Do you know that house I named this blog after, the one I planned to chronicle the process of cleaning it up and renting it out?

It looks like I might not be buying it after all.

I won that property in an auction in early July 2022. I quickly signed the contract and paid an earnest money deposit, and since then I have been waiting for the seller to contact me concerning closing (the process where the sale is finalized).

Well, I am sitting here writing this Friday night, and the sales contract expires on Monday, 8 August. I still have not heard from the seller about closing, so at this point I can’t tell you whether I am actually buying the house or not.

Honestly, I might end up having to say I named this blog after the one that got away. In any case, I will continue to blog about my real estate adventures. (I’m going to buy and remodel a house; it’s just not clear when or where this will occur.)

I plan to brace the auction company on Monday. Stay tuned.
